While the society at the moment is fundamentally engrossed in selling the hour-glass figure to women on one side, there is another school of thought that preaches us to embrace ourselves wholly in whatever frame we came in. We're going to get the fashion dice rolling this Tuesday by biting into the former and style the season's prime trend: The Waist-Cinchers.
Right from 1980's, the focus has been placed on enhancing a woman's figure into a curvy one. It was believed that the narrower the waist and wider the hips, higher was the lady's abilities to bear and nurture kids. Over the years we've grown to shatter the mold and refuse to let others preach to us about our frames. 37 years later, however, the waist-cinching fashion has resurrected in the most amazing way possible, not to constrict but empower.
Seen on the runway this Spring/Summer at designer labels such Isabel Marant and Stella McCartney, this bold piece of finery pulls out all stops in grabbing attention, for you. Although the trend was sighted on runways a couple of months ago, here is how I've revived this haute fad and turned it street-savvy.
I've adorned the fundamental ensemble of a crisp white shirt and a pair of boot-cut denim pants. It's a basic duo of white-shirt-blue-pants until you add a Japanese-Obi inspired belt to the mix. A simple trick that works for me time and time again is to pair loose fitted pieces with figure-hugging separates. The flared pants gloriously juxtaposition the form-fitted belt and now the Universe is at peace.
That was my version of incorporating the Waist Cincher belts into street-style. Hope you enjoyed it! Leave your thoughts in the comments below and I will bump into you guys next Tuesday.
