Hate to start off this post saying 'there's a shade of red for everybody', but it's true! Whether it is Maroon, Wine or Marsala, the fashion industry got you covered. So, last year was completely spent obsessing over the Millenial Pink and while we loved every bit of playing dress-up in our pink tutu's, it's time to be a bolder and fiercer version of ourselves. Cue entry: the reds. Proclaimed to be the color of the season both on and off runways, there is no stopping this fireball. There are a number of ways to wear this color trend depending on your mood, style, personality, and occasion.
So how would TheCurlyMode wear red this season? I incorporated the hue into my outfit with a high-waisted skirt and paired it with a mesh top. Threw on a grey duster jacket to keep me cozy and sealed the deal with a pair of ankle boots. Figured a girl has to give up on her ballerinas at some point. Haha. (Also, the skirt made it's debut around same time last year. It's here in case you want to check it out!)
If you are looking to stay in the loop and look ravishing while doing that, then here are some ways to wear Red and break hearts, simultaneously:
1. Monotone: Choose an outfit in red from head to toe. This could be a daunting choice unless you are a fashionista and possess enough confidence to carry this off. If not, an all-red outfit but in different shades (ranging from dark to light) is a less-intimidating approach.
2. Separates: Slide the color into separates such as a skirt (like I have), a pretty blouse or even a red jacket to add some character to your ensemble. This option is more doable as you can carry it from day to night, office to after hours without seeming like too much.
3. Accessories: Probably my favorite way to wear the color this season is in accessories. Opt for a statement red handbag, a pair of rose-tinted glasses, or the oh-so-trendy sock boots in a similar hue. Nothing says fashionable like a statement accessory along with a monotone outfit, whether its an all-black or white one, you're sure to steal the show. So what's going to be your pick?
Do tell me in the comments, if this post has encouraged you to slide some Reds into your wardrobe.
