As an all-time sleepy girl, I find that the toughest bit about mornings is getting out of bed and into a street-safe outfit. I used to wonder why I can't go about my day in my sleepwear.
That's when it hit me- I can, actually !
In this post I'm wearing a sleep-dress from The Label Life. I went to bed in it, rolled out of bed with it, went about cruising through my morning errands in it, then spruced it up a bit and took it out onto the streets and slayed the whole day in it. An easy trick while wearing nightwear to the streets is to pair them with pieces that exude daytime charm. For example, I added a bright floral belt to ditch the laidback vibe that sleepwear send out and it even accentuated my waist, completely juxtopositiong the fact that sleepwear is roomy and not figure-hugging. This dress has a frill detail at the back which was refreshing, as frills are doing the rounds these days in the fashion circuit. As for footwear, I wore a pair of red embroidered juttis (wore them in a previous look here) to keep my lazy girl vibe channeled instead of some powerhouse heels. Matched the colors of the belt and the shoes a tad bit and the ensemble looked polished with half the effort. Yay!
A dab of red lipstick and I was out of the door to conquer the world and more. Perks of this outfit? I stopped thinking about when I'd get out of my grownup-work-clothes at the end of the day and found that I did not have my bed on my mind, like I usually would. Haha. I felt well slept-in, comfortable and all the more stylish throughout the day. Sleepwear to Streets done right! :)
Do tell me what you thought of how this look has been styled and what kind of sleepwear are your favs. Pyjamas, shorts, lingerie or just plain t shirts- tell me all and i'll see you in the next post!
