Just before we rush into the slew of the winter months and talk about all things layering, let's actually sit down in the grass and bask in an outfit oozing 'summer'.
With 'Greenery' being the color of the year, everything close to home to that is considered trendy right now. However, I do understand that yellow is a tad bit intimidating because of its ability to grab attention from a distance. Ways to work around this without being overpowered is to wear the color with other muted tones. This allows the rich hue to stand out just the right amount. Choose one item of clothing in your outfit to adapt this color. It could be a slim yellow belt in your office wear, a set of blazing-yellow earrings at a dear friend's wedding or a lovely mustard-hued tote for a day out with the girls.
I hopped onto the trend by choosing a cold-shoulder amber-toned top with some lovely layered sleeves and pom-pom details. Paired these with a raw-hem denim skirt from Lee Jeans and held it all together with a burgundy belt to keep things interesting. Next, I threw on a pair of black embellished heels from MFT Couture and matched the color palette with my bag. Opted for a black stud-detailed backpack to add a tiny bit more grunge to the whole look.
If you're the kind who loves sitting out in the sun and soaking it all in, then this outfit is almost like an extension of yourself onto your clothes. Bright, beaming and beautiful.
On the flip-side, if you're like me, who pulls out their sunglasses at the first ray of light and complains about the heat all the time (hehe), this outfit can even be for you! Add doses of the color here and there and I promise, you'll light up every room you walk into.
Hope you enjoyed the outfit inspiration. Tell me what you thought of how this look has been styled and what ways you incorporated the sunshine into your outfits, in the comments below.
