30-seconds outfits

October 10, 2017

A person after my own heart once said 'Being a sleepy girl with a busy life is tough". You know what's tougher? Being a sleepy girl with a busy life, who wants to stay stylish.
The Lord knows the number of times I've been late to meetings, movie plans, coffee dates or to college lectures because I love my sleep and dressing up just as much. So today's blog post is dedicated to all my sisters who can relate. Let's run down the ideas to dress well involving the least amount of time. Time me!

Outfit 1: White Shirt + Blue Jeans
A winning duo through and through. A no-fuss outfit on days when you're terribly late for casual events. This can be dressed up (a pair of polished heels or a set of attention-grabbing earrings) or down (a pair of sneakers or a baseball hat) depending on your schedule for the day.

Outfit 2: Black / White Maxi Dresses

You know you're a lazy chick when you don't bother coordinating your tops with the bottoms and throw on a dress instead. Haha. Here, however, I'd recommend a maxi dress. Not only does a maxi elongate your frame (instantly adds height) but also looks more polished than a mini or a bodycon dress, simply thanks to its elegant structure. Stick to solid black or white ones and you'll be the chicest lazy-girl in the vicinity.

Outfit 3: Monochrome

This is a tried and tested one. When you wear clothes in a single color palette, you effortlessly look more put-together. I'm a little clueless about the science behind it but it just works! When I say monochrome, I don't mean the outfit needs to be exactly in the same color. The top, bottom, earrings, shoes and the bag could be the same color family and this little detail is a winner while styling in a rush.

Outfit 4: Black Bottoms + White Tops

Considering the general Indian body structures, we're all a little bottom-heavy. Darker bottoms whether they are pencil skirts or denim are a hit for us. Pair your black denim with a white button-down or that pencil skirt with a pussy-bow blouse on one of those mindless mornings. Add detail to your attire with some colorful earrings or a bold lip and you are sorted for every Monday morning.

Outfit 5: Layer

This is the one section of styling that we don't explore too often when we are in a hurry. You barely have the time to apply a winged eyeliner, let alone worry about the jacket matching your shoes or that scarf complimenting your bag.

I completely understand. However, layering is a very simple trick that can save you a ton of time on during those impromptu meetings or events. Layer a jacket over the simplest of outfits. Example: A Moto jacket over denim shorts + white T-shirt duo or a slouchy cardigan over a strapless dress to be effortless yet stylish. Not to mention you can ditch the time spent on ironing a shirt and catch a few more Zzzz's. Hehe.

Hope you enjoyed this post and do tell me if you saved time on your rush-hour mornings, in the comments. Love hearing from you! I will see you next week in an outfit post.
